RoArInG STAR
The time between the beginning of his leadership and now, where he slept within his den, was moons. Moons. How long had he been moving through the Clan territory as their proud figure head? He couldn't remember the exact total of moons, but it was nearing his second year. A second year... really? Had it been that long? Was he not kidding himself into thinking something like that? Was he that old? Had he been like this for that long?
His body groaned its protests as he rose from his sleep. When had he even woken up? His golden eyes blinked away the sleep that haunted him, the memories of a motherless childhood pressed to the back of his cavern of a mind. There were more important things to be worrying about rather than his stupid little kithood memories. Nothing that had happened in the past was going to be as life changing as what was to come in the future. He was aware of this, but like the kitten he was inside, the past was with him every step that he took. And he sometimes whipped his head around like there was a monster on his heels, chasing him away from his homeland to eat him in the dusky lands of the lone. It frightened him like the dark scared a child. He ignored it as best as he could, but one could see the fright that covered him with the mini tremors that made his hair dance on end.
In truth, the simile which compared him to a child afraid of the dark was the truth. If the past was a looming monster, the dark was the beast standing in front of him and eyeing him with that hungry look in his eye. When he went to recieve his nine lives with the medicine cat he had almost jumped out of his skin at the little rustles of life within the DawnClan forest. For it was night, he could see because of his feline vision, but it was still creepy. Everything was blurred, dark beings were simply shadows and the rustling was just prey, but still. The ominous hooting of a distant owl had made him jump once. That was why, when he decided it was time to recieve a dream from StarClan at the moonpool, he never, ever went alone.
But, as his massive head slipped into the medicine cat den to look for the one who would accompany him like they did everytime, he came to the realization that they were not there. Confused, well, not really, Roaringstar ducked his head as he pulled back out. Honey eyes wandered the clearing, looking for a trustworthy companion or even the medicine cat itself. However, the healer seemed to be collecting herbs or another medicine cat-ish thing, for they were no where to be seen in the camp. Huffing like a disappointed child, which one could say he was, the tom began to wander about the camp in pursuit of finding someone who could accompany him to the moonpool.
His siblings said no in an instant, looking at him like he was stupid. He was, but he wouldn't admit that. He didn't even think that he was, they just were sour pusses. They joked about his fear of the dark, which colored his red in embarrassment. He left after some harassment from them, slipping to mid camp without a clue. None of his warriors that he usually told to come with him were in camp either. He cast a glance at the entrance and then at the warriors den. Who would be accompanying the scardey-cat leader tonight?
ooc: Icky, this post is so low quality. xD

Dewleaf casually strolled into camp, just returning from the border patrol. "Good day, Roaringstar," she greeted her leader. "Is...something the matter?" She stopped in her tracks. Something seemed to be bothering him but she didn't know what.

"Something the matter?" the golden brown tom looked at the girl who approached him, a younger warrior. She seemed curious as to his state of mind, and he struggled to recall her name. What had it been? He had probably given her her current title considering how long he had been going up and down these forested area. He watched her and the name slipped in his mind in an instant, Dewleaf. Yeah, yeah, that one apprentice that had come from two-legs. How curious, why had she approached him? Did he appear troubled? But... wasn't he troubled? He supposed that this was the truth.
He nodded his head once, twice, tilted it to the side to give him that childish look. It seemed almost strangely natural that he did such a kiddish thing. It was, perhaps, but shouldn't he've grown out of things such as that when he was a child? But hadn't he been an adult when he was a kitten? Roaringstar did not attempt to confuse himself any further, departing from the thought to pursue another.
His ears twitched as he leaned forward, eyes narrowing in wonder, "Do you think that you'd want to come with me to the Moonpool? Our medicine cat has wandered off, and no one wants to come with me." He said this with almost a dreaded tone in his voice, his whiskers moving along at the end to show his fear. The journey to the Moonpool often took him a long time, having to heave himself up that hill and all. But, with another there to accompany him, it'd be easier. And besides, he didn't know how long he'd be recieving dreams from StarClan. The horrible thought crept in on him:
It might be dark by the time he was done.
He shivered at the repulsive concept, the fear creeping a little closer to him. He looked at Dewleaf with a sudden desperation in his gaze as the thought kept coming closer, "Please come with me." He leaned closer to her, hoping to force her to chose to go to his destination with him.

"Go to...the Moonpool?" inquiried the warrior. "Well...sure, if that's what you want," uncomfortable at the desperate gaze her leader was giving her. "When should we start? We'll want to go soon, it's getting dark..." She had not meant to have an ominous tone in her voice but it came out like that anyway.
((My posts feel sad. Your are so long and mine are so pitifully short xD))

Roaringstar nodded his head enthusiastically when she said, Moonpool, realizing in the next moment that she was about to accept his offer. That, of course, made him excited. He had someone who was willing to go with him into the deep, scary, dark forests. No one else looked at them, no one dared to get themselves stuck in the same situation as the one who had taken the chance and agreed to the pitiful Roaringstar's request. His siblings scoffed when they saw him smiling like a child just praised, wishing the best for the poor woman who had accepted his request.
"Oh, Dewleaf, when the time comes that there is an apprentice who is mentorless, it will go to you!" Roaringstar stood up, hardly towering over the Siamese-looking she-cat who was to come with him. "Unless, of course, I want to mentor them myself. If you want, we could have a competition!" Golden eyes twinkled, starting flames at the idea of a friendly rivalry. He almost forgot about his fear too, ready to skip off into the darkening day without a second thought, when Dewleaf suddenly mentioned, in frightening tones, the fact that... that.
"Its... not that dark..." Roaringstar swallowed, golden eyes dulling down to reveal the impending fear. "Really, its not..." He tried to leave behind the thought, staring away from her into the setting sun for a second, it was still light out. And besides, someone would be with him. It'd be perfectly fine. He turned towards her, shuffled his paws beneath him for a moment. What was she thinking, scaring him like that anyway? He almost wanted to get upset with her, but instead just huffed out his fear in a single breath, pulling himself forward.
"Lets go," he said, lacking the cheerfulness of other moments. He gave her a look, saying nothing and refusing to smile. He did not trick others into thinking that he was happy, he wasn't good with such simple skills. "We could probably get back before it gets really dark." He pondered this when he looked at the sunset once more, the dark reds and oranges shivered across his eyes. He darted forward, hoping that the girl would follow him out of the camp. They would have to run the entire way if they wanted to do what he wanted to do. But he would not be able to last that long, running to the stream between the Clans and then sprinting up the perilous rise that led to the Moonpool? That wasn't happening, despite how much he wished it could.
