Dreampaw looked around her. She had sneaked out of camp, planning to have a little fun. She saw a big tree a little ways off, and had a brilliant idea! She would climb the tree! And so she did, one paw in front of the other. I t was like a game at first, but then when she looked down, and saw how far away the ground looked, she gulped and just thought to herself, "one paw in front of the other," Hoping someone would come soon and help her somehow. A sudden rustle below made her jump, and, well, when you jump while you're climbing a tree...You kinda fall off. "HELP!" she yelled, twisting around, clutching, trying to grab on to something, anything. Then all was black.

"Oi! You! Wake up!" A voice shook Dreampaw's senses back into place. "What are you doing out here? Crazy apprentice! Trying to get yourself killed!" Oh dear, Dappleheart was in a grumpy mood. The medicine cat grabbed Dreampaw by the scruff, not even trying to put any care into it, and dragged her to the medicine cat's den.

Dappleheart snorted. "That's a broken leg, for sure," she commented, experimentally prodding the leg to see if there was any reaction. "You're going to have to keep off of it for a while. Does it hurt much?" Without waiting for an answer, she grabbed a few seeds from her stash of poppy plants. "To be honest, there's not much I can do for you but make sure you don't harm that leg any more. Eat some poppy seeds, it'll stop your leg from hurting much." Dappleheart mumbled something she didn't think the apprentice could hear. "Crazy cat...be glad when a mentor...here to watch...not some babysitter..."

Then she raised a question. "What were you doing in those trees? No sensible Zephyrclan cat goes anywhere aboveground. Speed is our domain, not height."

Dreampaw looked around her,eyes widening when she saw she was in the medicine cats den. Then she heard Dappleheart's voice, "That's a broken leg, for sure, you're going to have to keep off of it for a while. Does it hurt much?" "WHAT?!" She almost yelled. "A broken leg?! But...How..." Then, with a jolt, she remembered what happened. "Oh no..." She groaned. "I'm never doing that again! How could of been so..." She searched for the right word. She stopped when she heard the she-cat something else. "What were you doing in those trees? No sensible Zephyrclan cat goes anywhere aboveground. Speed is our domain, not height." "Er...well I..." She began. "Oh shoot, how am I going to tell her...How could I ever tell the truth?" She took a deep breath. "I was...That is I, I, sneaked out of camp to have fun because I was bored." The words came out in a great rush. She paused, hoping she wouldn't be too harsh on her. Then she noticed the poppy seeds. She sighed and tryed to get to them. They were just out of reach. She glanced at Dappleheart. "Er...Could you please...?"

"Bah!" Dappleheart shouted at the apprentice's explanation. "You knew better to do that, didn't you?" she questioned Dreampaw. "The trees are to Dawnclan," she meowed thoughtfully, "so that means that by going up into a tree, you would have been in their territory. Unless," she added, "if climbed went onto one of the trees surrounding the camp, but those are ridiculously stumpy trees anyways."

She wrinkled her noise in disapprovement. Then, noticing the apprentice struggling to reach the seeds, her gaze softened. "Now, don't think I'm only mean to you. I'm a naturally grumpy cat." She laughed lightly and pushed the poppy seeds toward Dreampaw.

Dreampaw let out a relived sigh. Dappleheart hadn't been very mean. Wait, Dawnclan? She gulped, afraid of what the leader might say to her when she found out. Dreampaw was relived to see Dappleheart push the poppy seeds within her reach. "Now, don't think I'm only mean to you. I'm a naturally grumpy cat." Dreampaw grinned weakly. "That's fine." Suddenly her expression changed to one of horror. "Hey, Dappleheart? Will I be able to become a Warrior? Will my leg heal?" She asked, almost too scared to breath.

[Hamster]

Dappleheart noticed Dreampaw gulp nervously. "Now, listen here. If you don't tell anything to Echostar, I won't say anything to her either. Unless she asks a direct question, of course, but I doubt she will."

"Don't be silly. Of course it will heal." Dappleheart was back in her snappish personality.

"Stop asking questions. Those poppy seeds should start making you drowsy soon. Sleep is the best thing you can do for yourself right now."

Dreampaw found herself yawning. "Okay, thanks Dappleheart. That's good to know. And I won't tell Echostar...I, I won't." She said drowsily. She felt herself begin to fall asleep. "Oh and tell..." But before she could finish she fell asleep.

Dreampaw found herself in the forest, chasing a rabbit. Suddenly a cats voice sounded near her ear, she tryed to turn around, but she was stuck. Then, before she knew what was happening, she was falling, screaming, living the moment over again. "What's happening?" She screamed.

Then she was back in the medicine cats den, safe. She gave a sigh of relief.
